Economy Creating an environment that fosters technology and innovation is essential for economic diversification. This includes offering tax incentives for tech startups, investing in digital infrastructure, and supporting incubators and accelerators. By attracting tech companies and encouraging homegrown innovation, we can create a robust tech ecosystem that provides high-paying jobs and drives economic growth. Economy Nevada’s economy heavily relies on tourism and hospitality, which can be volatile. Promoting economic diversification to reduce dependency on these sectors and create more stable job opportunities is crucial. Economy Industrial hemp presents a significant opportunity for economic diversification. With its versatile applications in textiles, construction, biofuels, and more, hemp can drive growth in agriculture, manufacturing, and technology sectors. Supporting policies that encourage the cultivation, processing, and marketing of industrial hemp will open new avenues for farmers, entrepreneurs, and businesses, contributing to a more diversified and resilient economy. Environment / Energy Funding our state’s engineering schools to research innovative technologies, such as small Natrium or Thorium reactors, can position Nevada as a leader in clean energy. These advanced nuclear technologies offer a safer and more efficient alternative to traditional reactors, providing a reliable energy source while reducing carbon emissions. By investing in research and development, we can attract top talent, create high-paying jobs, and stimulate economic growth in the energy sector. Infrastructure / Transportation Collaborating with California on desalination projects can address water scarcity issues while creating new economic opportunities. Desalination technology can provide a sustainable water supply for both states, supporting agricultural and industrial activities. By positioning Nevada as a hub for desalination research and development, we can foster innovation, create jobs, and ensure a stable water supply for future growth. Economy Streamline regulations, reduce administrative burdens, and offer tax incentives to encourage entrepreneurship and small business growth. Economy Encourage investment in innovation hubs, technology parks, and research institutions to support the growth of high-tech industries such as renewable energy, biotechnology, advanced manufacturing, and information technology.
