Frederick County Council - District 4

Top Issues

Guns I fully support our constitutional right to keep and bear arms. I will oppose any legislation that infringes upon this fundamental, God‑given right. I am a strong supporter of concealed carry and a proud member of the National Rifle Association. As a council member, I will stand firm in defending the rights of law‑abiding citizens. Education If elected to the County Council, I will support legislation that broadens educational choice for families in Frederick County. Parents—not government—should decide where their education dollars go. I believe funding should follow the student, whether a family chooses a public, private, or alternative educational option within our county. I will work collaboratively with council colleagues and School Board members who share this commitment to ensuring every child has access to the learning environment that best meets their needs. Taxes / Budget I support lowering property taxes and reducing the overall tax burden on Frederick County residents. I will oppose wasteful spending and ensure that taxpayer dollars are used responsibly, efficiently, and transparently. Infrastructure / Transportation Frederick County residents deserve safe, reliable, and well‑maintained roads. I support practical, long‑term solutions to reduce traffic congestion and improve commuter flow. I will back legislation that enhances road safety and infrastructure while opposing measures that place unnecessary burdens on local drivers. Criminal Justice / Public Safety I strongly support our law enforcement community and will never support any measure that puts officers or public safety at risk. I support ICE and the continuation of the 287(g) program, and I support Sheriff Jenkins’ efforts to maintain this partnership. I oppose attempts to dismantle or weaken 287(g) at the local level. Government Reform I oppose the incorporation of Critical Race Theory and DEI‑based initiatives within county programs and budget allocations. I support eliminating the DEI Officer position and ensuring that county resources are focused on policies that unite our community rather than divide it. Taxes / Budget I support a balanced budget and the implementation of zero‑based budgeting to ensure every taxpayer dollar is accounted for and justified. The current administration’s budget—approved by the sitting council—represents the largest spending increase in county history and directs over 1 billion toward government expansion. I will work to restore fiscal discipline and protect taxpayers from unnecessary growth in government spending. Economy Small and medium‑sized businesses are the backbone of our local and national economy. I support reducing unnecessary fees, regulations, and bureaucratic barriers that hinder growth. I will champion policies that help local employers thrive, expand, and continue providing jobs and services that strengthen our communities. Infrastructure / Transportation I proudly oppose the data centers. I signed the data center referendum petition because they place a heavy strain on local infrastructure, have significant environmental impacts, and affect nearby schools and neighborhoods.
