Claire Wilson

Washington State Senate - District 30

Top Issues

Abortion / Contraception Reproductive Rights. Guns Commitment to pass common sense gun laws that keep our friends, families, and communities safer. Infrastructure / Transportation Claire will make sure our transportation dollars are invested in local congestion relief and streamline the delivery of road improvements, light rail projects, and other transit needs, making sure they are done on time and on budget. Claire knows we need these projects to stimulate jobs and help our state grow, and won’t allow these improvements to come at the expense of duping the taxpayers who pay for them. Healthcare He is fighting to take on the insurance industry to lower healthcare premiums, reduce the cost of prescription drugs, and expand access to preventive care like cancer screenings. Environment / Energy Claire will ensure funding for transit solutions that reduce air pollution and fight for more local public transit options. She will work to further our understanding of–and find solutions to–the many ways climate change and racial, social, and economic inequities intersect. Education As your Senator, I will work on and support legislation that holds large corporations and millionaires accountable, and demands they pay their fair share so that we can fully fund education for all. Taxes / Budget Claire will push to close tax loopholes for big corporations and wealthy special interests so that we can lower property taxes for middle class families and provide genuine relief. Environment / Energy In Olympia, she will continue to support efforts to develop jobs in greener manufacturing, clean energy, and other higher-tech sectors. Education Education on every level in our state is still critically underfunded. We can and must go further in fulfilling our paramount duty and creating an equal educational playing field. Taxes / Budget Claire will push for compassionate solutions that support our most vulnerable neighbors. She will close tax loopholes for big corporations and wealthy special interests so that we can lower property taxes for middle class families and provide genuine relief.
