Michigan State Senate - District 23

Top Issues

Environment / Energy Michigan needs reliable, affordable energy, not radical experiments. Daniel opposes forced solar and wind mandates that raise costs and threaten grid stability. He supports an all-of-the-above energy strategy that prioritizes reliability and affordability over ideology. Energy policy should serve families and businesses, not green special interests. Infrastructure / Transportation Lansing should not dictate how communities use their land. Daniel opposes unchecked data center development that strains power grids, water systems, and local infrastructure without accountability. Zoning and land-use decisions belong with local governments and residents. Communities deserve transparency, consent, and the ability to say no. Taxes / Budget Michigan families are overtaxed because Lansing refuses to control spending. Daniel supports the full elimination of the state income tax, not temporary cuts or half measures. Government does not have a revenue problem, it has a spending problem driven by bureaucracy and special interests. Families and small businesses know how to spend their money better than politicians ever will. Healthcare Healthcare costs are skyrocketing because government interference and abuse of the system have gone unchecked. Daniel supports reforms that lower costs, increase transparency, and protect Medicare for seniors who paid into the system. Taxpayer-funded healthcare benefits must be reserved for citizens, not illegal immigrants. Michigan families should not be forced to subsidize lawlessness. Education Michigan schools exist to educate, not indoctrinate. Daniel supports removing woke ideology from classrooms and restoring a focus on reading, math, science, and American history. Parents, not bureaucrats or activists, should control what children are taught. He will fight to protect parental rights and end political agendas in schools. Guns The Second Amendment is absolute and non-negotiable. Daniel supports constitutional carry and believes no law-abiding citizen should need permission from the government to defend themselves. He opposes red flag laws, which violate due process and allow firearms to be confiscated without a conviction. Criminals should be punished, not responsible gun owners.
