Taxes / Budget Public schools are an investment in our future- their importance cannot be overstated. The American Dream is rooted in the idea that everyone has a right to an effective education and our teachers help make that dream a reality for North Dakota’s students. Rewarding them doesn’t mean higher taxes. It means smarter spending. Over the last ten years North Dakota has reduced the percentage of its budget dedicated to teacher pay. That needs to change. Education North Dakotans want more instructional options while defending public schools. This can be achieved by ensuring schools have sufficient resources and autonomy, along with high expectations and accountability to ensure every student has access to a personalized education. Dual credits taught by high school teachers should be more affordable for families. Education The Department of Public Instruction should be a partner—not a barrier. Levi understands that families care most about how schools are run, what students are learning, and whether they’re being prepared for life—not just spending levels or test scores. He will work alongside district leaders, educators, and parents to support what matters most: student success. Education Test scores are part of the picture, but not the whole story. North Dakota maintains high standards and teaches more advanced content than ever. Levi believes in looking at the full range of what families value: academics, activities, and real-world skills.
