Wages / Job Benefits We must create a 21st century workforce by strengthening union jobs which support a family with good wages, benefits, and create opportunity through responsible investment. Environment / Energy Indiana leads the nation in toxic chemical releases, with more than 80 toxic coal ash pits threatening our state's clean water sources -- more than any other state. We can take the lead at a state level, while also competing in a growing job market, to well position Indiana to invest in new energy resources for future generations. Education To improve outcomes for Hoosier children, we need to make early childhood education available to all families, provide fair and adequate funding for K-12 public education and teacher salaries, and reduce food insecurities through expanded school breakfast and lunch programs. Healthcare We must provide access to prenatal care by working to eliminate "maternity care deserts" that exist across the state, especially in the critical first trimester of pregnancy.
