Education Using her oversight authority over the Finance and Business Operations division, Mesha will ensure taxpayer dollars are being spent wisely and efficiently. She will increase transparency in school spending so parents and educators know where the money is going and how it’s improving outcomes. Education Mesha will expand and elevate Career and Technical programs across the state to ensure students are prepared for high-demand careers. She will work with the Division of Innovative Instruction to make CTA programs rigorous, respected, and aligned with Georgia’s workforce needs. Education From transportation to school meals, Mesha will ensure every operational component of Georgia’s public schools serves students well. She supports increasing funding for school safety initiatives and first responders and will make sure classroom technology and infrastructure are up to par. Education Mesha will fight to give every parent a say in where and how their child is educated. She supports expanding high-quality school options, including charter schools, private school scholarships, and innovative public programs, so no child is trapped in a failing school. She believes parents should be the ultimate decision-makers in their child’s education. Education She will strengthen the Department’s Education Support and Improvement division to provide better mental health services in schools, support special needs students, and promote a safe, supportive environment for every child. Education Mesha will push for smarter testing and stronger performance measures that actually help teachers improve instruction and help parents understand how schools are performing. Education As State Superintendent, Mesha will work with the Division of Standards-Based Learning to raise academic standards, eliminate politically driven curriculum, and focus on the fundamentals: reading, math, science, and civics.
