Patrick Dyer

Baltimore County Executive

Top Issues

Criminal Justice / Public Safety This all changes on day one of a Dyer administration. The first line item in Patrick’s budget will be law enforcement…that is where his budgeting process is going to start. Patrick will make certain law enforcement has the tools and resources needed to do protect our citizens. The first obligation of a County Executive is to provide for the safety and well-being of the citizens and that is exactly what Patrick Dyer is going to do starting day one. Taxes / Budget The county needs a thorough review of spending and operations from top to bottom. We need an efficiency review in every department looking for cost savings. Patrick has the needed experience to lead this review so Baltimore County functions in the most productive, efficient manner possible. Economy The permitting process is old, slow, out of date and a barrier to our success. The county’s slow permitting process is acting as a growth impediment for businesses. As your County Executive Patrick will going to streamline this process. Maryland ranks poorly on “business-friendliness” metrics in almost every study by business associations. There are real concerns about the regulatory environment, permitting processes, and devastating tax policies. Maryland ranks as one of the most expensive states for business operations due to these impediments. Patrick is the only candidate for County Executive who brings 30 years of experience owning, managing, and growing a business. He will put his proven skills to work for Baltimore County so we can reach our full potential. Education Your child’s education stands as the cornerstone of Baltimore County’s future and my administration. Your families deserve the best education available —As the largest budgeted line item, our schools receive the lion’s share of tax revenue. Our educational strategy will center on providing every student with an unshakable early foundation in the basics to succeed. These fundamentals are the essential tools our children will use to navigate their futures and enjoy all that life and Baltimore County can offer. Every dollar diverted from early education, the classroom, the teachers, and a better school environment is a missed opportunity for our students. We must examine our allocation of resources and ensure your tax dollars directly enhance learning experiences rather than expanding administrative overhead.
