Housing I will recognize vacant and blighted properties that have been sitting there for decades, to convert them into accessible housing and place them back on the tax rolls. I will work with the developers to bring units to our city that can be purchased to revive the dream of home ownership. Wages / Job Benefits We can increase wages through policies like the15.00 minimum wage, so that low-income workers are better able to obtain and afford housing that costs less than 30% of their income. Housing Our city needs a “Housing Trust Fund” that aids city employees and everyday working people be able to afford to live here as well as work here. Housing We need to work to keep taxes reasonable and bringing more housing options, while also working to strengthen our inclusionary zone and seek increased funding for affordable housing and homeless shelters in the city. Housing Establish an Office of Housing Stability to help individuals find and maintain stable affordable housing. Drug Policy Decriminalize marijuana - free up our court system and stop our city from heavily prosecuting for non-violent crimes.
