The Lieutenant Governor is the second-highest ranking official of the state executive office. The Lieutenant Governor is the first successor to the Governor and the presiding officer of the State Senate, only voting to break a tie.
At least 30 years of age on the first Monday in December following the election; citizen of the United States for at least 7 years; qualified voter of the state; resident of Alaska for at least 7 years immediately preceding filing for office.
Filing Requirements
Filing fee is $200, or $100 each for Governor and Lieutenant Governor filing jointly; signature requirement of 1 percent of the number of voters who cast ballots in the preceding general election
