State Representative
About this position
State Representatives are members of the state's lower chamber, as part of the state's bicameral legislature. State representatives are responsible for voting on: bills related to public policy matters, levels for state spending, raises or decreases in taxes, and whether to uphold or override gubernatorial vetoes.

Eligibility Requirements
At least 21 years of age on the first scheduled day of the first regular session of the legislature convened after the election; 3 year resident of Alaska; and 1 year resident of the district from which elected immediately preceding filing for office.
Filing Requirements
Filing fee is $30; signature requirement of 1 percent of the number of voters who cast ballots in the preceding general election
