The County Legislature or Executive Board is the governing body of the county and exercises broad policy-making authority. The Board is charged with implementing policy and overseeing the county budget process and allocation.
Must be a qualified elector of the county and have resided in the county for at least one year prior to the date upon which they would take office. Must not have been convicted of a crime punishable by imprisonment in the state or federal penitentiary.
Filing Requirements
Filing Fee (Major party candidates only): 2% of the annual salary for the office. Petition Signature Requirements (independent and minor party candidates only): 3% of the number of votes cast in the district for the office of governor in the last general election.
