Eligibility Requirements
A candidate must be 25 years of age at the time of their election, must have been citizens of Alabama for 3 years, having lived in their respective districts for at least 1 year immediately preceding their election.
Filing Requirements
Filing fee is $1931; signature requirement (independent and minor party candidates only) of 3% of the number of votes cast in the district for the office of governor in the last general election.
Paperwork Instructions
Submit paperwork to the Alabama Secretary of State's office. Major party candidates must also qualify with their respective state party organization.
