U.S. Shadow Senators lack a congressional vote and are held by elected or appointed officials from the District of Columbia. They are not seated in either chamber of Congress, but they seek for Washington D.C. to gain congressional voting rights.
Senator must be at least thirty years, have been a citizen of the United States for nine years, and must be an inhabitant of the State in which they are running.
Filing Requirements
Filing fee is $0; signature requirement of 2,000, or 1% of registered voters in the same party as the candidate, whichever is less (primary); 3,000, or 1.5% of registered voters, whichever is less (general)
