The Register of Wills office is responsible for the efficient administration of all estates being probated in Sussex County. The Register of Wills grants authority to personal representatives to administer estates and is responsible for making sure that those administrations are carried out in compliance with Delaware Law.
No person shall be elected or appointed to an office within a county who shall not have a right to vote for a Representative in the General Assembly, and have been a resident therein one year next before his or her election or appointment, nor hold the office longer than he or she continues to reside in the county, unless herein otherwise provided. - Art. III, SS11 State Constitution
Filing Requirements
Filing fee is set by the party county committee (party candidates). Petition signature requirements: 1% of registered voters of the jurisdiction (independant candidates)
