Candidate must be a citizen of the United States for at least 15 years, a resident of Georgia for at least six years, and at least 30 years old.
Filing Requirements
Filing is 3% of the annual salary of the office; Signature requirement of partisan candidates unable to pay filing fee is 1% of eligible voters in the previous election for this office, Signature requirement of independent candidates is 5% of eligible voters in the previous election for this office.
Paperwork Instructions
Submit paperwork to the state party's office if you are running in a major party primary; Submit paperwork to the Secretary of State's office if you are running as a minor party, independent, or nonpartisan candidate.
