About this position
State Representatives are members of the state's lower chamber, as part of the state's bicameral legislature. State representatives are responsible for voting on: bills related to public policy matters, levels for state spending, raises or decreases in taxes, and whether to uphold or override gubernatorial vetoes.

$16,684/year + $2,250 for constituent service allowance + expenses for housing and travel during the session. President Pro Tem and Speaker receive an additional $4,000 per year.

Eligibility Requirements
Citizen of the United States, 21 years old at the time of the general election, registered elector within the legislative district one year preceding the general election at which he offers his candidacy

Filing fee is $30; signature requirement of 50.
