Eligibility Requirements
Candidate must be a citizen, qualified elector, have a high school diploma, not convicted of a felony, not convicted of a misdemeanor of domestic violence, and not convicted of a misdemeanor related to gambling, liquor, or narcotics within the last 5 years.
Filing Requirements
Filing fee is 1% of salary if the position salary is over $1,000/year. If the position salary is less than $1,000/year, $5. Petition signature requirement for Major Party candidates: 3% of the total of the current voter registration of the party in the county. Minor Party candidates: 4% of the current total of qualified voters of the county.
