This District or Circuit Court Judge is responsible for adjudicating cases at the trial-level. Judges in this position are seeking to retain their current seat.
The candidate must be at least 30 years and a lawyer admitted to practice in Kansas and engaged in the practice of law for at least five years, whether as a lawyer, judge, or full-time teacher at an accredited law school. The candidate must be a resident of the judicial district at the time of taking office and while holding office.
Filing Requirements
For non-retention candidates: filing fee of $1,421; OR number of signatures equalling 2% of the party's total voter registration for the district (for party candidates) or 4% of the total registered voters from the district (for independent candidates), PLUS filing fee of $70. For retention candidates: filing fee of $70.
