State Representatives are members of the state's lower chamber, as part of the state's bicameral legislature. State representatives are responsible for voting on: bills related to public policy matters, levels for state spending, raises or decreases in taxes, and whether to uphold or override gubernatorial vetoes.
Must be at least 24 years old, a citizen of Kentucky, and have resided in the state at least 2 years and the district at least 1 year prior to election
Filing Requirements
Filing fee is $200; signature requirement of 2 registered voters of the same party from the district or jurisdiction from which candidate seeks nomination (Democrat and Republican) or 100 signatures (independent).
