Eligibility Requirements

A candidate for any county office must be a resident of and a voter in the electoral division they seek to represent on the date established for filing primary petitions in the year they seek election, and must be attorney at law admitted to the general practice of law in Maine.

No Filing Fee. Petition signature requirement: Min: 150, Max:200. Submit paperwork to the Maine Secretary of State.
