Eligibility Requirements
Candidates must be registered voters, 21 years old by the date of the general election, licensed to practice law in the state of North Carolina, and must retire upon reaching the age of 72.
Filing Requirements
Filing fee is 1% of the annual salary for the position sought. In lieu of paying a filing fee, a candidate petition must be signed by 10,000 registered voters who are members of the political party in whose primary the candidate wishes to run.
