State Representatives are members of the state's lower chamber, as part of the state's bicameral legislature. State representatives are responsible for voting on: bills related to public policy matters, levels for state spending, raises or decreases in taxes, and whether to uphold or override gubernatorial vetoes.
Candidate must be a U.S. citizen, a registered voter in New Hampshire, at least 30 years old, an inhabitant of the state for 2 years prior to election, and an inhabitant of the district to which they are elected.
Filing Requirements
Filing fee is $2; In lieu of filing fee, signature requirement of 5 signatures from members of candidate's party (partisan primary). Filling fee is $0; Signature requirement is 150 registered voters in the district (general election).
