The Governor is the chief executive officer of a state and is responsible for implementing state laws and overseeing the operation of the state executive branch. The Governor oversees legislative proposals and vetoes, executive budgets, and implements executive orders.
Candidate must be 30 years old, a United States citizen for at least 20 years and a New Jersey citizen for at least seven years.
Filing Requirements
Filing fee is $0 for primary candidates; signature requirement of 1,000 qualified voters. For independent general candidates, filing fee is $0; signature requirement of 800 qualified voters.
