About this position
State Representatives are members of the state's lower chamber, as part of the state's bicameral legislature. State representatives are responsible for voting on: bills related to public policy matters, levels for state spending, raises or decreases in taxes, and whether to uphold or override gubernatorial vetoes.

Eligibility Requirements
Must be at least 18 years old, a U.S. citizen, a resident of state for 5 years, and a resident of district for 12 months immediately preceding election
Filing Requirements
Filing fee is $0; signature requirement of 5% of enrolled voters of the party in the district or 500, whichever is less (party candidates); 5% of the total number of votes cast for governor at the last gubernatorial election in the district, or 1,500, whichever is less (independent candidates).
