State Representatives are members of the state's lower chamber, as part of the state's bicameral legislature. State representatives are responsible for voting on: bills related to public policy matters, levels for state spending, raises or decreases in taxes, and whether to uphold or override gubernatorial vetoes.
Must be a resident of the district, have resided in the district for one year immediately preceding the election and be a registered elector.
Filing Requirements
filing fee is $85; signature requirement is 50 for major parties, 25 for minor recognized parties, Based on the number of votes cast in the congressional district in the last general election for governor for Independent candidates
