The State Labor Commissioner is the administrative head of the state Department of Labor, and is responsible for the administration of state laws relating to labor and the workforce. The State Labor Commissioner ensures that all workers are treated fairly by overseeing investigation of unpaid wages, minimum wage, overtime, and disputes.
Must be at least 18 years old, a resident of the state 5 years prior to election, and a qualified elector.
Filing Requirements
Filing fee is $100; signatures requirement of the lesser of either 1,000 signatures or 1% of the number of votes cast in the state for governor at the most recent election at which a candidate for governor was elected to a full term. The signatures shall include those of at least 100 electors registered in each congressional district.
