The County Treasurer or Finance Officer is responsible for the safekeeping of public funds as well as receiving and distributing the revenue and public funds of the county. The County Treasurer or Finance Officer oversees the financial and budgetary administration ensuring regulation is followed in accounting matters as well as county purchasing.
Candidate must be a U. S. Citizen at time of filing, a registered voter in the county, at least a one year resident of the county immediately before the date of the election and unless unaffiliated, be a member of a registered political party. If ever been convicted of a felony: All felony convictions have been expunged or ten years have passed since the most recent felony conviction and -All court-ordered fines and penalties have been paid -Probation is completed -Parole has been granted -Term of incarceration is completed
Filing Requirements
Filing Fee: $50 plus 1/8 of 1% of the total salary for the full term of office legally paid to the person holding the office for all other federal, state, and county offices. Petition Signature Requirement: 3% of the registered voters who are residents of the area permitted to vote for the county office and are permitted by the qualified political party to vote for the qualified political party's candidates in a primary election
