Eligibility Requirements
In addition to being a qualified elector, the county assessor shall own real property in the county in which he is elected (W.S. 18-3-201)
Filing Requirements
Candidates should produce a completed filing application (found on the Secretary of State website) and a filing fee of $25. Independent candidates seeking partisan office must also complete a nominating petition. A petition for a county office shall be signed by registered electors, resident in the jurisdiction and eligible to vote for the petitioner, numbering not less than two percent (2%) of the total number of votes cast in the county for U.S. Representative in last general election.
