The County Clerk is responsible for maintaining records of governing body transactions such as resolutions and ordinances. The County Clerk maintains and provides records including birth, marriage, civil union, and death certificates. The County Clerk also issues permits and licenses.
No person except a qualified elector shall be elected or appointed to any civil or military office in the state. (Wyo. Constitution, Art. 6, Sec. 15)
Filing Requirements
Candidates should produce a completed filing application (found on the Secretary of State website) and a filing fee of $25. Independent candidates seeking partisan office must also complete a nominating petition. A petition for a county office shall be signed by registered electors, resident in the jurisdiction and eligible to vote for the petitioner, numbering not less than two percent (2%) of the total number of votes cast in the county for U.S. Representative in last general election.
