About this position
State Senators are members of the state's upper chamber, as part of the state's bicameral legislature. State senators are responsible for voting on: bills related to public policy matters, levels for state spending, raises or decreases in taxes, and whether to uphold or override gubernatorial vetoes.

Eligibility Requirements
State senator must be at least 25 years of age, a county or district resident for at least 12 months prior to election, be a qualified elector of WY
Filing Requirements
Filing fee is $25; signature requirement of at least 2 percent of the total number of votes cast for the office in that particular district in the last general election if an independent candidate.
